This my 50th birthday month, and I’m going to be posting stuff I remember from my earliest childhood till now, cause fun, cause memory, cause maybe you’ll remember, cause thankful, cause maybe you’ll laugh (or groan), cause culture, cause my life.
Weird, but the first thing I thought of this morning was this song, “I Gotcha!” by Joe Tex, from 1971. I probably didn’t know what he was talking about, but I mostly remember this girl who used to jump on the Soul Train stage and dance to the lyrics as Tex sang. Somebody else must remember this. (Also, thankful for youtube’s existence)
